Read on to find out more about her love for nature and surf photography.

Hi Emma! Tell us a bit about yourself.
Hi! I'm Emma Wise. I'm 22 years old and a freelance photographer and a naturopathy student, based on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia. Where I come from, It's hard not to love the ocean. I've always had a wild imagination and a dream to travel.

When did you discover a passion for photography?
I've always been fascinated by photography and art. My dad had quite a few film camera's lying around the house, that I would play with. I would always be creating my own home movies. My parents bought me my first camera - a little point-and-shoot camera that I would take absolutely everywhere (and went through quite a few because of this). I began collecting old film camera's. Some that had no hope of ever being repaired. I bought my first professional camera when I was about 18.

Where do you get your ideas and inspirations from?
Basically everywhere I go in life, I'm looking to find inspiration in everything I see, and I envision how it would look as a photograph. I keep a book where I jot down ideas. I believe there is a great instinctive bond between humans and nature and my happiness comes from photographing nature and the ocean. Apart from this, there are so many different artists, that continue to influence me not only as a photographer, but as a person. Also, my wonderful 9 month old son, Sage!!

Why surfing photos?
Apart from snowboarding, surfing is the only other sport that provides me with continual excitement, which I absolutely thrive off. It's almost impossible to get bored watching surfing, because it is always different. Each surfer has their very own unique style. Water creates energy. Energy is life.

What is your favourite equipment to work with?

If you could only work with one colour, which one would it be and why?
I'd have to say blue. Because water appears to be blue…?

where is the one place on Earth you'd love to visit?
Thats a tricky one, I plan to travel Europe sometime in the near future. I think that Iceland would be incredible. I would also love to explore and find some islands that haven't seen man in hundreds of years. Oh, and Costa Rica would be AMAZING….Sorry I couldn't limit myself to one.

What would you do if you win a million dollars?
I would pack a few essentials, if that were even essential, because I would be a millionaire, and I would board the next flight and start my journey there. Travel the world, continuing what I do - most likely buying better camera gear in the process. I would buy a new snowboard, open up my own health clinic and give a whole lot of money to my family and those in need.
