We speak to whimsical illustrator Megan Inghram this time around, whose colourful work has enthralled us (and also Sea of Shoes).
Read on to find out more!

Hi Megan! Tell us a bit about yourself!
Hi! I'm a somewhat-sardonic illustrator living in Berkeley, California. I wear saddle shoes, have an extremely fluffy cat, and I frequently dream about starting a band with a mandolin and a glockenspiel.

When did you discover your love for illustrations?
It started at a very young age, when I saw someone get excited over a drawing I did for them. Further discovery of band posters and Charles Dana Gibson's "Gibson Girl" made me realize I wanted to turn it into my career/every waking minute.

What keeps you motivated and inspired?
P.T. Anderson movies, fashion and film from the past, burlesque, seeing other great art and design, walking around my neighborhood while listening to Beach House.

What was it like having Jane Aldridge praise your illustration of her? (Above)
It made my month, for sure! I was thinking about emailing it to her and then, before I could hesitate any more, she emailed me telling me how much she loved it and asked if she could put it on her blog. She is the sweetest!

Tell us your favourite medium for your illustrations.
My first love is pen and ink and watercolor. I did my entire thesis during art school using only a brush pen! But lately I really enjoy the flexibility of digital.

Who do you dream of collaborating with?
Miuccia Prada, Jessica Hische, Kris Atomic or Victoria Legrand.

If you could only work with one colour, which one would it be and why?
Black because it's honest and to the point. It's classic!

Finally, what would you do if you've won a million dollars?
Freak out, buy some shoes, and then worry that I'm spending too much and put it in a savings account. And then take out several thousand and go to London.
