Hi Megan! Tell us a bit about yourself!
I'm an eco, organic, cruelty-free makeup artist who also styles hair. I was born and raised in the wild west of Las Vegas, NV, although I got the hell outta there as soon as I graduated and went to live and study in Salt Lake, Park City, New York and LA. The latter being where I live now.

How did this career start for you?
When I was a kid I always loved drawing faces especially lips and eyes, and I have always had the desire to make women look beautiful. Throughout my life I dressed up my friends and even my lil bro (which he hated!). While I was living in NY, I wanted to refocus my career path and I decided to become a hair and makeup artist. It all came very naturally.

How does your career help spread awareness on eco-friendly, organic and cruelty-free cosmetic products?
I'm a huge activist in the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics where I sign petitions to get the toxic-junk out of our daily cosmetics. I believe in a more sustainable lifestyle and I practice that through my daily regimen and through my makeup and hair practice. I also support the Leaping Bunny and Bunny Ears on products, which represents NO testing on animals. I think it's cruel and unnecessary. Every time I meet a new model or client I always promote how they can make the change for the better, and they enjoy knowing that I value their health and care for the environment.

Where do you get your ideas and inspirations from?
Nature is my greatest inspiration, but my husband and I have a great collection of painting and photo books that I reference frequently. Some of my frequent references are Frida Kahlo, Georgia O'keefe, John Singer Sargent, Guy Bourdin, and Jeanloup Seiff.

Which of your projects are you most proud of?
I recently did an Editorial with genius photographer Christine Hahn. It was magic! I also enjoy my projects that incorporate natures elements onto the face such as peacock feathers and flower petals.

That being said, any upcoming projects that we can look forward to?
Definitely! I'm going to be doing an African tribal inspired shoot, where I will be making all the makeup by hand from iron oxides and kaolin clays.

If you could only work with one colour, which one would it be and why?
It would be orange. Because for me it represents vitality, change, creativity, energy, warmth and new beginnings.

What would you do if you win a million dollars?
Haha. Well... I'd build an eco-friendly, zero-waste, sustainable dream home by the Ocean in CA where my hubby, me and our doggie Hobo could live.
