PHOTO OF THE DAY
7 NOVEMBER

Kolam

Kolam (Tamil: கோலம் kõlaṁ) is a form of sandpainting that is drawn using rice powder by female members of the family in front of their home. It is widely practised by Hindus in South India. A Kolam is a geometrical line drawing composed of curved loops, drawn around a grid pattern of dots.

"One of the best parts of living in Multi-Cultural Malaysia, is the exposure to the different aspects of Malay, Chinese and of course Indian cultures. Deepavali is around the corner, the Hindu festival of lights that is, and as usual KLCC decorates itself to reflect the cultural season of the nation. I always loved to see the vibrant colours used in Indian cultures. Be it in weddings or deepavali, there is just so much colour!" - Nick Tay

Hope everyone had a great Deepavali!
