Alex Noriega is the Spanish cartoonist behind the hugely successful and hilarious blogs Stuff No One Told Me and Your Mother Likes It.

He gladly sat down (in front of a computer) for an exclusive interview with us!

This is a bit of Sunday treat for our readers ;)
Enjoy!

Tell us a bit about yourself. Do you have any hidden talents?
Hi, My name is Alex Noriega, and I'm a young cartoonist born and rised in Barcelona (Spain), but currently living in Maputo, Mozambique (it's a long story).
I pretty much know that I wanted to be a cartoonist since I was 4. I studied illustration and a bit of graphic design. I worked in the fashion industry for the last 8 years designing t-shirts and I will try to stay away of it for as long as I can or I will end up becoming a serial killer.

I can't make my secret talents public, because my ladyfriend would freak out.

Have you always wanted to be a cartoonist?
Yes, ever since my grandfather (who was a landscape painter) taught me how to hold a pencil, I knew I enjoyed drawing... I probably became aware that it could be a profession when I was older, but I don't remember that. I do remember feeling like I could make anything happen on paper and I guess I got hooked to that feeling.

Why did you start blogging and featuring your illustrations?
I've been blogging since 2005 in my sketchblog. I started SNOTM because I wanted to do something different and kind of daily.

Did you expect your work to be so well-received?
No, not at all... I was expecting it to be a lot less known as it is right now. I'm very thankful that people enjoy it and actually understand it, though. I find it funny that people that wouldn't normally read comics or look at art like it.

Your illustrations are hilarious (and very spot on). Where do you get your inspirations from?
My day to day life... I don't like to find inspiration in weird stuff... my life is already weird enough :)

Which of your illustrations is your all-time favourite?
hmmm, that's hard... I don't have an all time favourite, they all are special somehow and mean something to me.

Do you really have anosmia? (Yes, we Googled it)
Yeah! I've had anosmia for the last few years though... I wasn't born like this. It feels very weird at times, because I can remember certain scents, but I can't smell them again. I still don't know why I have anosmia, it's a weird condition.

What would you do if you've won a million euros?
I would probably buy a studio in Mallorca, lots of canvases and enough marijuana for 30 years.
