Model Crystal Renn has opened up on her weight and its impact on the fashion industry!

She is a size 12.

Seen here at the recent Elena Miro Fashion Show at Milan Fashion Week, she is one of the very few plus-size models to grace the runway, or any runway shows in fact.

"I was 14 and I was scouted by an agency. I was really curvy. Didn't know anything about modeling. Couldn't care less, to be honest, at that point in my life. But the scout explained a little bit more about it. And something clicked. I thought maybe, this could be something for me. Then he goes 'You have to lose like, 50 pounds'."

She then suffered an eating disorder, trying to maintain the industry "standards" of what a model should look like.

The model, who has also been an advocate for a wider array of sample sizes (most runway samples are a size 0 or 2), also says she's faced discrimination due to her weight. she says.

"Fat people are absolutely discriminated against. I know this because of the type of modeling I do … If it wasn't, then I'd be all over the runways, every single runway, like everyone else."

Crystal was in the much-hyped editorial shoot for V Magazine with Jacquelyn Jablonski, in which both models were styled similarly to blur the lines between a "normal" model and a "plus size" one.
